Our story begins in 2021 as we journeyed through Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, we had the privilege of engaging with underbanked and low-income migrant workers in nations like the Philippines, India, Bangladesh, and the UAE.
These encounters left an indelible mark on us, revealing the unwavering commitment and remarkable optimism of these workers, who sacrificed up to 80% of their income to support their families back home, often leaving little for themselves, let alone savings.
We envision a world where equal opportunities for thriving and prosperity exist, where everyone has access to financial tools and education to achieve their dreams.

Rola Abu Manneh is the Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank UAE. She assumed her current role in August 2018, becoming the first Emirati woman to head a bank in the U.A.E. As part of its Women in Tech program, Standard Chartered U.A.E. accelerated 12 startups, who had collectively raised over $5 million from venture capitalists, as of November 2021. Abu Manneh previously worked as a senior managing director and head of corporate and investment banking at First Abu Dhabi Bank.
Rob Coombes possesses extensive experience and knowledge in compliance and risk management, particularly in the banking sector. Currently serving as the Chief Compliance Officer for Affluent & Wealth at Standard Chartered, Robhas held multiple leadership roles within Standard Chartered, including Global Head of Financial Crime Compliance, Wholesale Bank and Global Head of Transaction Banking Compliance. He has also held the positions of Head of Legal & Compliance, China and Japan based in Shanghai and Head of Legal & Compliance, Thailand based in Bangkok. Prior to Standard Chartered, Rob worked at The Royal Bank of Scotland, focusing on compliance in Treasury and Capital Markets. Rob holds an M.Sc. in Financial Services Regulation from London Metropolitan University, completed between 1996 and 1998.
I am an England & Wales qualified solicitor (LLB Hons) with 16 years of experience in regulatory law, conduct, and compliance. My career spans international regulatory practice at Allen & Overy, and with the UK Financial Services Authority. At Standard Chartered, my career has been dedicated to regulatory compliance and digitalisation. I have expertise in regulatory affairs, policy development, compliance advisory, consumer protection, corporate governance, and contentious regulatory work, including investigations and litigation. As a people manager and certified executive coach, I am committed to values-based leadership, fostering collaboration, diversity, and continuous professional development.
Our CTO with over 17 years of experience in UBS, Atlassian, and Macquarie Bank leading large-scale tech projects and teams. He’s also the founder and CTO of Featureflow a tech startup that enables companies to safely release, a/b test, and improve applications. He’s our guru of agile methodology.
Over 15 years of international experience in financial services across Europe, Middle East, and South East Asia primarily across retail banks such as Citi, Standard Chartered and Mashreq Bank with particular focus on lending, client growth, and ROI delivery through effective project and people management.
With over 13 years of experience across different industries, Lauren brings a commercial focus and a deep understanding of aligning people with the company’s purpose and social impact goals. Lauren has a diverse background in a range of industries and a history of working in multinational, matrixed environments, so she is uniquely equipped to handle the complexities of today’s business world.
Gautam Jain brings experience of over 30 years in banking technology. His background includes chairing two SC Ventures portfolio companies and various board memberships. He joined SC Ventures in 2018 after roles at Standard Chartered Bank, Barclays, HSBC, and Citigroup in Singapore, London, and India. Gautam Jain also leads SC Ventures’ Middle East Office as well as the $100mn JV Digital Assets fund with SBI.
Namrata is a finance professional and a qualified chartered accountant (All India Rank holder) with an experience of more than 10 years across diverse roles in finance function in the Banking industry.
Global work experience with investment and retail banks such as Goldman Sachs, Macquarie Bank and Dubai Islamic Bank across geographies – USA, Hong Kong, Singapore, UAE and India.
15 years of experience in various legal, risk, and business teams across financial services. She has worked in various roles at Credit Suisse, Julius Baer, CitiBank, Al Tamimi & Company in various geographies in the Middle East, Africa & Turkey, as well as Ernst & Young in Mumbai. Shabnam brings a wealth of experience to myZoi and is a valuable asset to the company! A Corporate lawyer turned Tech Person, she brings a unique perspective to the table and is excited to be part of myZoi’s innovative mission!
Munir has over 17+ years of experience in setting and advancing the corporate strategy, maintaining and sustaining the risk environment within risk appetite, navigating an evolving regulatory framework, fostering innovation in risk and Middle office functions and value creation.
A well-rounded senior banker with diversified banking experience of over two decades across retail and wholesale banking with a focus on transaction banking – trade finance, supply chain, payments, cash management & advisory. Currently working as a financial advisor with PWC for a Saudi Bank to transform their transaction banking business and enhance revenue. Worked as a trade finance digitization consultant for the Commercial Bank of Dubai. Previously worked with Qatar National Bank Group as Head of International Transaction Banking covering trade finance and cash management. Worked with Standard Chartered Bank for 15 years (11 years in UAE and 4 years in Pakistan), Citibank N.A (4 years) and ABN Amro Bank (1 year). Diversified transaction banking exposure of over 17 years covering working capital finance, supply chain, sales management, product management, implementation of complex banking solutions, treasury transformation, cash and liquidity management, platforms, ecosystem, escrow & account bank solutions.

Co-founder and Country Head of Pakistan. Has over 15 years of experience in financial services, operational risk and consumer banking at Standard Chartered Bank and CitiBank. Arsalan handled complex programmes across geographies, and continents and now building the myZoi fintech movement.
COO with over 17 years of experience in Remittances, Cash Management, and Financial Markets across HSBC and Standard Chartered. He’s one of the co-founders building operational excellence across the organization to deliver seamless client experience.
Christian brings over 20 years of experience in Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship to his role. He has gained extensive experience in designing innovative customer experiences within the finance industry. He worked as a Senior Innovation Coach at the eXellerator, a division of SC Ventures, where he facilitated and coached various initiatives to solve complex customer problems across Standard Chartered Bank’s footprint in Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Christian has also held key positions as Lead Innovation Manager and Lead UX Designer at companies such as Westpac, Westpac Innovation Services, Macquarie Bank, and BT Financial Group. Additionally, Christian is a Certified Instructor from the LUMA Institute in human-centred design, further enhancing his ability to deliver effective solutions.
